How do I replace this filter?

  1. Drain the old filter canister into a catch pan; disconnect the WIF sensor if equipped.
  2. Remove the old filter with a strap wrench.
  3. Clean the mounting surface and transfer/replace the WIF sensor with a new O-ring if reused.
  4. Pre-fill the new filter with diesel through the outer holes, lubricate the seal, then hand-tighten an additional 1/2–3/4 turn after contact.
  5. Reconnect the WIF sensor wiring.
  6. Cycle the ignition to RUN (without cranking) 3–5 times to prime the system, then start the engine and check for leaks.
